A Message from Helen Osman, Living Faith Foundation

Dear friends of Living Faith Foundation,

As you are reading this message, I am in Rome, on pilgrimage with Bayard Pilgrimages. As we visit some of the ancient churches of our faith, I am also remembering that ours is a living faith, one that transcends the centuries and the continents.

Someone on pilgrimage is not a tourist. We carry with us the prayers of many people. I’m cognizant of all the beginnings in the prayers shared with me: prayers for a new school year, hope for a new job, blessings for a pregnancy. And then there are the prayers for more somber new chapters in people’s lives: learning new routines after a spouse dies, facing the challenges of a medical diagnosis, trying to find God in a painful revelation.

Through all the “newness,” God is forever present. We hold on to that fact with the sureness of a faith in a living God who abides among us and loves each of us tenderly.

At the Living Faith Foundation, we are also embracing a new expansion of our outreach efforts. Alongside our longstanding support of prison ministry, military ministry, and family ministry, we are pleased to highlight our new Health Ministry outreach. The Foundation provides faith resources to chaplains serving patients, families, and healthcare workers facing some of life’s most challenging moments.

Every day, healthcare chaplains offer spiritual comfort to people experiencing illness, uncertainty, and loss. Through prayer, compassionate listening, and faith-filled resources, they help individuals encounter God’s presence when it is needed most. Many of these ministries operate with limited budgets and depend on partners like the Living Faith Foundation to provide devotional materials, Bibles, and spiritual resources.

Please join me in praying for those who perhaps didn’t choose the changes in their lives that they are experiencing. May they know God’s tender mercy, because of the tenderness of the chaplains and others who accompany them and because of the resources available to them through the Living Faith Foundation.

Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement make this outreach possible. Together, we can continue bringing hope, healing, and spiritual support to those who need it most.

From Rome, with my gratitude,

Helen Osman
