Dear friends of Living Faith Foundation,
We’re blessed this year that Pope Leo XIV has called for a Jubilee year memorializing the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s heavenly birth. One of our most well-known and beloved saints, Francis was canonized by Pope Gregory IX in 1228, less than two years after his death on Oct. 3, 1226.
He grew up in privilege, indulged by his parents and the pleasures of wealth. Despite that, God’s quiet voice of mercy became increasingly obvious to him. Eventually, he heard God telling him to “go and repair my church.”
In announcing the Year of Saint Francis, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that “our times are not very different from those in which Francis lived.”
Our Living Faith daily devotions, including Living with Christ and Living Faith Kids, give us a way to stay grounded in the Living Word of Christ, the same Word that transformed Francis of Assisi. Building on the strength of our support of chaplains serving military members and those in prison, we want to expand our reach in 2026 to include healthcare ministries (hospitals and hospices) and university ministries.
We know that some of life’s most vulnerable moments happen in a hospital room or during the transition into adulthood. Whether a family looking for strength in a time of illness or a student seeking a sense of purpose on a vast campus, no one should have to search for God’s Word alone. By partnering with hospital chaplains and campus ministers, we will ensure that the same “daily connection” our inmates and soldiers rely on is there for those navigating these difficult, pivotal chapters of life.
We can only do this because of your generosity.
As we commemorate this Jubilee year honoring St. Francis of Assisi, may the example of his faith, humility and service lead us to deepen our compassion for others and to actively share God’s love in our own communities. Your support of the Living Faith Foundation empowers us to continue this vital mission, reaching those in need with hope and mercy. Together, let us walk in the footsteps of St. Francis, bringing the Living Word to life for all.
