Praying the Rosary
I am amazed that you are so quickly forsaking the one who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel… Galatians 1:6
Today is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This Marian devotion is a popular one for many Catholics pray the Rosary every day. This feast recalls how a military battle was won by believers being united in praying the Rosary. The Rosary is not only a devotional prayer, but it could rightly be seen as a teaching tool. The twenty mysteries reflect on the Gospel story of Jesus’ life, ministry, death and resurrection. It summarizes the Gospels and the importance of following Jesus and his teachings.
People who do not pray might easily stray from what they believe. When we pray, we remain rooted in our beliefs. Our Lady, through her Rosary, can keep us faithful to the Gospel of Jesus and prevent us from following a different gospel.
