Giving Birth to the Word

When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; My prayer reached you in your holy temple. Jonah 2:8

The prayer of the Rosary, no matter how it is prayed, must always lead us back to the Word of God and to obedience to the Father. The last words of Mary in the Gospel of John is where we must always arrive when we pray. It is her last testament and words: The gospel gives her command. “His mother said to the servers:‘Do whatever he tells you’” (John 2:5). The intent of the Rosary is always obedience to the Word of God and a life that puts into practice the will of God that is the Good News of God to the poor of the earth. If we are truly the children of Mary then we must give birth to the Word of God in our lives and bodies, and like the Beloved Disciple, we must stand at the foot of the cross in our world, where we will always find her grieving over the sufferings and death of the children of the Father.
