“God Is Always Speaking…”

Commenter Scott reminds us, on the 10/7 reflection, that God is everywhere and in everything— the good and bad—and for that, we should be grateful.

God is always speaking. This morning I heard the howling of coyotes or wolves (I am not sure which one). The moon is full amidst the cloudy skies; the birds just began chirping. God speaks in creation.

God speaks in human hearts when we celebrate the birth of a child, baptisms, weddings and sometimes a Mass for a loved one who has finished the race of life on this earth. We can celebrate going to church/Mass. God speaks when we are going through hard times, the depths of darkness, even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God’s voice is always speaking the words, “Trust me, I am here, Be not afraid, in with you, do not worry” (if only I had the strength in my being not to worry). If life was so easy, like those words God speaks, life would be easier to handle. Thanks be to God who gives us strength to meet the challenges that help us to be still and listen to a God that is always speaking. God speaks words of wisdom, truth and love to comfort and give us peace. Rejoice and be able to give thanks for a Spirit that is still and always speaking the words of wisdoms we need to hear to live life on this earth.
