God’s Healing Power

For the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time…

For the LORD hears the poor,
and his own who are in bonds he spurns not.
Psalm 69:34

If you or someone you love feels weak, trapped, unworthy or hopeless today, this verse is sent for our healing. Just when we think we are least deserving, God wants us to know that we deserve his love. Just when we feel tethered to our sin or handcuffed to our unpleasant circumstances, God wants us to know that for as bad as we feel, he has plans for our good. Just when we are at our worst, God shows up with his best. It’s the infallible gift for a failing heart.

Pour your heart out to God today, on behalf of your personal needs or on behalf of the needs of someone you love. Take divine comfort in knowing that he hears you, and he is already working behind the scenes to remedy difficult circumstances. Confess your weakness and need to the one true source of all help. Trust that he will show up for you in mighty and inexplicable ways.
