For the Second Sunday of Advent…
The LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed.
Psalm 126:3
The Lord’s coming is drawing nearer. We’re almost to the midpoint of Advent. Recently, I was sharing with a small group of women at a Bible study about counting my blessings, and how when I look at different areas of those blessings, I see looking the movement of the Holy Spirit in my life.
Let us pause reflect on the Lord’s work in our lives. Here are a few questions that might be helpful for discovering God’s faithfulness to us, in leading us to see his ‘great things’ in action.
For whom or what am I most grateful for in this season, or in the past year?
How or where have I experienced peace?
How or where have I experienced consolation?
How or where have I experience rest?
And what creative thing or work is God inviting me to do now? Is it to build or make something? Or to nurture someone? Or to find a path to greater gratitude?
What might the Holy Spirit be asking of you?
Dear God, when you do great things for me, I want to share those good things with others.
