You rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy… 1 Peter 1:8
Today we rejoice in a new birth in baptism that continues to give us hope. If you do not remember your own baptism, this might be a good day to go back in time. Sit on the rim of the baptismal pool. Gaze into the saving waters. You are being merged into Christ. Was that just a moment from your past? Or does this merging continue throughout your life? Salvation is a gift of God. But is salvation a process? Is this gift ongoing? The “indescribable and glorious joy” referred to in this Scripture is a delight we can still experience. This joy comes from an active faith in Christ. It even rises out of our sufferings. Do not allow the joy of your baptism to die. Continue to claim it as part of your spiritual inheritance. If you love with a faith that is on fire, others will be blessed by your indescribable and glorious joy.
