Pope Francis taught me never to reduce his words and message to soundbites. There was always more to the story. The whole picture lays somewhere between the extremes often presented in the media. I’ve found Pope Francis’ words, like the words of Scripture, are best understood when taken in context. This Pontiff, as shepherd to all, attempted to meet souls and their needs where they were, then invite them deeper. Ultimately, Francis leaned on the Holy Spirit and his guidance for the full truth.
