What a beautiful day to join Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael to sing of God’s glory! The temptation is to think of these archangels as out there somewhere, removed from our daily life. Yet these divine messengers are with us each day, reflecting God’s care. St. Michael (Who is like God?) aids us in our struggles with the Evil One and defends us, especially at the hour of our death. St. Gabriel (God is my strength) announced the mystery of the Incarnation to Mary. Gabriel intensifies our desire to continue Jesus’ presence in this world, to let him be born and borne in us. St. Raphael (God has healed) continues the mission of healer and fellow traveler in all the critical moments of our journey.
As the leaves begin to fall, may we experience a shower of grace from these archangels and cultivate a grateful devotion to them, today and in all the seasons of our life.
