Spiritual Coachability

On the reflection for 10/25, Jane shares something she is working on in her walk with God that we think might be helpful for other Living Faith readers:

I get so far ahead in my mental gymnastics about what I should be or need to be and forget that God’s requirement is for me to desire to be with him. That desire, and awareness of it, amplifies my commitment and enables my “coachability” [to] grow. Please continue to flame that desire in me.

Thank you to all who keep this place a loving, safe and holy space for us to share the most significant part of our lives, the spiritual experience of our unique, and yet universally relevant, thoughts, feelings, and circumstances of our shared human experiences with a Godly perspective.

To that end, friends have been encouraging me to share about how my belief that
God sends out His angels with messages that are specific to each of us if only we pay attention – listen, hear, see, and understand the message. And pray as we go. For me, it comes in the form of my thoughts aligning with “personalized” license plates as I move through this awesome world of God’s creation. I’m sure the interpretation can be individualized to each of our situations. So the “ personalized” license plate may have been thoughtfully created by the driver of that car, but it also is “ personalized “ to every person that sees it.
For example, when I let someone enter into the lane I’m in and go ahead of me, their license plate may say something I need to hear or be reminded of. Like “JCLEADS” ( Jesus Christ Leads). I take pictures of these license plates when I can, if it’s safe to do so. But it’s the stories or interpretations that go along with these “ signs” that make it even more special and reaffirm my belief in God. With each “turn” we make “on the road” of life, it is “ meant to be “ as long as we are following Him and believe that He sends out His Angels to minister to us. Road rage could be wiped out if only we believe and know that the person next to us, or behind us or in front of us in traffic could provide another “ sign” to point us in “the right direction.” Even if we miss the green light due to the car in front of us moving too slow, that may just be Gods way of aligning all of us or setting us up for something awesome coming down the line. We are all intricately connected through the beauty of the ultimate Mastermind, God, Himself. . And I’m sure many. “ accidents” have been avoided by Angels blessing our paths. We all have the potential to be someone’s Angel, or “blessing” on the path. A good practice is to Believe in the occurrence of these “ traffic signs, “ or “ personalized “ license plates as God speaking right to us, and to be kind to your neighbor or fellow drivers. After all, we’re all sharing the road with each other, as guided by our Lord and Creator. It’s what I call “ car karma.”
