For the Fourth Sunday of Advent…
Joseph … was a righteous man. Matthew 1:19
Next to the Blessed Mother, nobody on earth had a closer relationship with Jesus, than Joseph.
As we hear today’s Gospel about Joseph we witness the many virtues of this righteous man chosen to be the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Church remembers him in the Litany of St. Joseph under many titles apropos for our times:
Joseph, most just, pray for us.
Joseph, most chaste, pray for us.
Joseph, most prudent, pray for us.
Joseph, most courageous, pray for us.
Joseph, most obedient, pray for us.
Joseph, most faithful, pray for us. …
Model of workers, pray for us.
Pillar of families, pray for us.
Comfort of the afflicted, pray for us.
Hope of the sick, pray for us.
Patron of the dying, pray for us.
Terror of demons, pray for us.
Protector of the Holy Church, pray for us.
St. Joseph, thank you for being a spiritual father to me.
I invite you to regularly pray the full Litany of St. Joseph found both here, and in a PDF format here within a novena to St. Joseph. He is a mighty patron!
