In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth…
God said: Let there be light, and there was light. Genesis 1:1, 3
I’ve so often dreamed about these words… and the Great Beginning that God wrought in Creation. What was it like before that first light from God erupted? All we know is that God was there, and if we keep turning back the pages of time, we will find him there. And if we think with the Light that God gave us since that moment, we will also find God in the now, and in the not yet. And in the still to come. For God is already there, too.
On a human level, we all have many beginnings, some grand and some small, some noteworthy and some obscure. But what a grace it is to be able to begin all things we say and do with God, first in mind and heart, and as our reason for being.
This is the first post of this newly-minted Living Faith Extra blog. May it always begin with God and his eternal goodness, and may it always point to God, our Father in heaven, and the beautiful, wondrous Light that is his Son, Jesus, the Eternal Word.
