On the devotion from 8/10, Rusty shares his newfound, mature attitude toward tithing:
My current circumstances prevent me from in-person mass, but I started giving a genuine tithe about 3 months ago. Every other time I gave money to the church, even in 36 years of marriage like Cain, we always gave God our leftovers, and even then, it took a calculator, spreadsheets, and a bottle of wine. My present income is the lowest since I was in college, yet with a cheerful heart and smile, I am giving God my first fruits, and the blessings he has bestowed on me have been innumerable. Also, I cheerfully wished a man and his daughter a good and blessed day at breakfast yesterday. He smiled and offered the same to me. This simple act put my faith and God’s love into action.
In a world consumed with money and hoarding wealth, Rusty, you’re an inspiration for the rest of us to follow!
