Relaying an anecdote from her childhood on 8/16, Jane remembers how powerful her earthly mother’s intercession was and thus realizes , by extension, how much more profound our heavenly Mother’s intercession on our behalf is:
Thank you Fr. Edward for reflecting on asking for the intercession of Mary, which I do regularly. How many times did our own mothers intercede for us when someone was taking advantage of us or just being mean to us. I remember in the sixth grade when kids were being so cruel to me. My mother did exactly what I didn’t want her to do and called their mothers. I was horrified, but it worked. While it didn’t stop entirely, it certainly was much better because they knew my mother would intercede. Mary’s intercession is so much more powerful and I am quick to go to my mother Mary and ask for help. May all those who need extra help today find it in Mary. Amen.
