For the Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time…
If we have died with him
we shall also live with him;
if we persevere
we shall also reign with him.
But if we deny him
he will deny us.
If we are unfaithful
he remains faithful,
for he cannot deny himself.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
This beautiful exhortation from St. Paul is inspiring, consoling, and most challenging.
Everything explained before the but is a truthful promise of God. And everything after the but is also the truth. Paul does not mince words.
The choices we make have consequences.
Have we chosen Christ? (For Christ first chose us.)
May we persevere in that truth.
Lord, make me a faithful witness to your life in me.
