Use Your Sphere of Influence for Good

For the Third Sunday of Lent…

Many more began to believe in him because of his word,
and they said to the woman,
“We no longer believe because of your word;
for we have heard for ourselves,
and we know that this is truly the savior of the world.”

John 4:41-42

We all have a sphere of influence. I’m not talking about your standing on social media, or anything in the digital sphere where likes or subscribers are involved. I’m talking—IRL—in real life; among the people you live with, live among in your community, work with, and even your fellow church members.

Faith is handed on, and often faith is more caught than taught. The woman at the well in this Gospel account was an eyewitness to Christ, and her encounter with him changed her life. Everyone who knew her in her town heard of the miraculous man she met.

I’m sure it was also this way for everyone who met the Risen Lord after the tomb was found to be empty. Life changing.

Do you have a never-gonna-be-the-same-moment with Jesus? Never hesitate to share that with others. People may argue with you about Scripture or doctrine, but they can never argue with your real-life experience with Christ. Use those “Jesus Moments” for good.

Remember the old adage: You might be the only gospel some people every read.

Lord, give us courage to bear witness to your influence in our lives.
